Transparent PNG maker
Free, no signup, and your image never leaves your device.
The export side. PNG is the safe choice everywhere; WebP is the same transparency at roughly a third of the size, and every current browser reads it.
What it does
- PNG for compatibility, WebP for size — both keep the alpha channel.
- Trim to the subject, which removes the empty space around a cutout.
- Exported at the original resolution, not at preview size.
- The filename is derived from yours, so a batch of exports stays sorted.
The part most tools get wrong
Trimming keeps the feathered edge. Cropping to the last fully opaque pixel slices off the soft boundary that makes the cutout look natural — the bounding box here includes the partially transparent rim, so trimming never hardens an edge you deliberately softened.
Common questions
PNG or WebP?
PNG unless size matters. WebP is substantially smaller for photographs and is supported everywhere current, but a few older tools and some print workflows still refuse it.
Does saving as JPG keep the transparency?
It cannot — JPEG has no alpha channel at all. Anything transparent becomes black or white. That is why only PNG and WebP are offered here.
What resolution do I get?
The original one. The preview is downscaled to keep the sliders responsive, but the export recomputes the cut at full size.
