Colour background remover
Free, no signup, and your image never leaves your device.
Click the background with the eyedropper and that colour becomes the key. The useful part is the choice of whether to remove only the connected area or every pixel of that colour anywhere in the image.
What it does
- Eyedropper picks the exact colour from your image, not an approximation.
- Remove it everywhere, or only where it is connected to the border.
- Recently picked colours are kept for reuse.
- Tolerance is measured perceptually, so one setting behaves the same on light and dark colours.
The part most tools get wrong
Enclosed gaps. The hole in a letter O, the space inside a mug handle, the gaps in a lattice — all of them are background, and none of them touches the border. A connected fill can never reach them. Turning connectivity off clears them in one pass, which is the single most useful switch on a logo.
Common questions
Why does my logo still have white inside the letters?
Because that white is not connected to the outside. Untick "Only the area connected to the edges" and it goes.
Does it match the colour exactly?
No, and it should not: compression and sensor noise mean a flat background is never one exact value. The tolerance sets how far from the picked colour still counts, measured in a perceptual colour space rather than in raw RGB.
Can I remove more than one colour?
One at a time, but the brush covers what is left over — and for a background made of two flat colours, running colour mode twice is usually quicker than fighting the tolerance.
