Background colour changer

What it does

The part most tools get wrong
Where the blend happens. Compositing a half-covered edge pixel using the values as stored makes it darker than it should be, which shows up as a dark outline on a light background. Converting to linear light first, blending, and converting back gives the colour that was actually there. It is the most common compositing mistake there is.
Common questions
Which white do marketplaces want?
Pure white, #ffffff, is what Amazon and most others specify. The first white swatch is exactly that, not an off-white.
Can I put a photo behind instead of a colour?
Not here. Export a transparent PNG and layer it over whatever you like in any editor — that keeps this tool to one job and does it properly.
Why has my file got bigger?
A flat background compresses extremely well in PNG, so usually it gets smaller. If it grew, the image is a photograph; switching to WebP will cut it substantially.
